Melissa Weiser was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She has been riding horses since the age of 9. Melissa is an avid Barrel Racer, and competes in NBHA (National Barrel Horse Association) and PCBRA (Pacific Coast Barrel Racing Association) as well as other Exhibition Races & Rodeos. She currently races “Tip Me Fancy” her Quarter/Arabian Pony Mare she rescued & trained as a yearling. Melissa is a 5 time buckle winner & has qualified for the NBHA World Championships 4 times.
Melissa, a certified member of the American Riding Instructors Association, is the owner of MAW Performance Horses a Horse Training Facility located in Simi Valley just 5 minutes from the San Fernando Valley in Southern California where she teaches Western Riding to children & adults, Actors & Stuntmen, specializing in Barrel Racing, Gymkhana, Western Pleasure, Bareback, Trail & various horse related Stunt Skills. She also trains, leases & sells horses for these events as well as rehabilitating & retraining problem and rescue horses.
The multi-talented Melissa Weiser is also a Professional Sag Stuntwoman herself & has done a variety of stunt work in television, film, & music videos. She has had her horses featured in both television & music videos such as Gretchen Wilson’s “California Girls”& most recently played the Female Crony in "Rocket Jump the Show; High Plains Drifter" currently airing on Hulu, Played a robot on horseback on "Westworld" Season 2 Episode 9, and doubled actress Haley Lu Richardson on "Jane The Virgin".
Melissa’s long term goal is to compete on the pro-rodeo circuit & qualify & compete in the National Finals Rodeo. For now, she competes locally, is currently qualifying for her WPRA permit & card and takes her students with her to compete at local competitions.
